A moderate level of fitness is desirable, but most of the tours we create can be adjusted to our clients’ preferences and necessities. The walking tours in Torino usually lasts 3 hours (with many stops along the way), but they can be shortened to your preference. The truffle hunt can take place into the woods but also on more leveled ground and the lenght of the experience can too be adjusted. The tour at the castle of Grinzane Cavour involves staircases. Please let us know if you have special requirements.

Transportation is not included, but can be provided upon request. We offer airports and train stations pick up/drop offs. During the tour we can provide private air conditioned cars or minvans. Alternatively we will provide you with a rental car for the entire extent of the tour

We offer a curated  list of selected Hotels, Boutique Hotels, Farmhouses, Villas and B&Bs. We trust you will find these accommodations to be just what you are looking for, but if you don’t feel comfortable with the suggested level of accommodation, please let us know and we will adjust it to your preference.

Meals (lunch and dinner) will not be included unless specifically requested. Restaurants will offer menu à la carte and various dietary options. Please let us know if you have special requirements

Piedmont Gastronomic Tour:
Tour description

Day 1 – Welcome to Piedmont!

Check-in at your hotel, get comfortable and meet with your local private guide. You will have time to review the itinerary of your gastronomic tour of Piedmont, and collect some useful travel material for the days to follow. According to your preferences and time of arrival, you can take a tour of the area before dinner.

 

Day 2  – Visit at the Grinzane Cavour castle & Wine tasting in thr Barolo region

Your day starts with a tour of the Barolo wine area, famous for producing some of the most excellent Italian wines. Visit the historic Grinzane Cavour castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and also the regional wine shop of Piedmont. A private guide will take you on a tour of the castle, and tell you all about the history  and gastronomic heritage of Piedmont. You will have the chance to see the castle’s museum and the wine shop, which houses an impressive collection of local wines.

After a typical Piedmontese lunch, explore more of the Langhe wine region and visit a selected local winery. Enjoy a fabulous and relaxing wine tasting experience. Learn about the history and techniques of winemaking in the region. Your host will introduce you to the various grape varieties and explain how the terroir affects the taste and quality of the wine. This is a perfect chance to sample some of the best wines in the world and discover new favourites!

 

Day 3 – Cheese tasting & Truffle hunting experience near Alba

Reach a small Alpine village located in the South of the Langhe region of Piedmont. Your destination is renowned for its artisanal approach to cheese-making, with several ageing cellars that contribute to the production of exceptionally high-quality cheeses. Expert artisans will guide you through this charming and immersive experience for food enthusiasts, allowing you to delve into the heritage and craftsmanship behind some of Italy’s most celebrated cheeses. After the tour of the cheese ageing cellars, sit in the local restaurant and and enjoy a traditional lunch with cheese and polenta.

After lunch, travel back to the heart of the Langhe wine region, legendary all around the world not only for its wines, but also for its black and white truffles. Meet a local truffle hunter and his trusty dog in the surroundings of Alba, and explore the local vineyards, hazelnut woods, and forests. Learn about the different types of truffles and how to identify them. Your guide will explain you how to look for truffles, how to preserve them, how to communicate with the dog and how dogs are trained. This is a fun learning experience, a must-do during your gastronomic Piedmont tour.

 

Day 4 – Walking tour of Torino & Chocolate, Coffee, and Vermouth Tasting

It is time to travel to the city of Torino, the capital of Piedmont. Torino has been Italy’s first capital city and it is known for its rich cultural heritage and delicious food and drinks. Meet with your guide, and get ready for another magnificent day. Take a relaxing walking tour of the historic city centre of Torino, explore the main streets and piazzas. Your guide will show you the marvellous city architecture and famous landmarks. This will be the perfect chance to discover Torino gastronomic life and culture.

Enjoy a light lunch in one of the city squares, but leave some space for the sweet local delicacies. Torino is in fact very well known for its amazing chocolate, gelato and coffee. Vermouth is one of the signature drinks of Torino, together with the traditional Bicerin, the celebrated three-layer drink (espresso coffee, hot chocolate and cream).

 

Day 5 – Piedmont Cooking class & Wine tasting

A Piedmont gastronomic tour would not be complete without a cooking experience! Today starts in a local cuisine in the company of a seasoned chef. Discover the most charming culinary traditions of Piedmont, learn about legends and sayings. Aprons on, follow the chef instructions and use the locally sourced and seasonal ingredients to recreate a typical Piedmontese menu, from appetizers to dessert. Lunch will follow, food and wine will be paired for you to enjoy.

After this immersive, hands-on cooking class, reach you next destination. Visit a selected winery in the Langhe region, feel the warm hospitality of your winery host and engage with passionate winemakers, learning about traditions, techniques, and the dedication involved in producing these esteemed wines, thereby gaining insight into the local way of life.

 

Day 6 – Tour of the most iconic Langhe hilltop villages & Wine tasting

Spend the morning touring some of the breathtaking charming little villages and hamlets of the Langhe wine region: Alba, La Morra, Barolo, Monforte d’Alba. Take a chance to admire the panorama from La Morra hilltop viewpoint, walk through the narrow streets of Barolo town and its castle, peek in the local shops looking for Piedmont’s culinary treasure: exquisite truffles, artisanal cheeses like Castelmagno and Robiola, premium wines (Barolo, Barbaresco), local honey, hazelnut delicacies (such as gianduja chocolate), and souvenirs.

Finally reach your lunch destination, and once more enjoy the local fresh and seasonal food. It is time to visit one more winery to complete our list. Every winery offers its unique interpretation of the region’s terroir, showcasing the richness and complexity of Piedmontese wines. Visiting these wineries provides an opportunity to experience the passion, craftsmanship, and distinctiveness of Piedmont’s wine culture firsthand. Cin cin!
